The Vagina Monologues ( by Volunteers In Action)

Saturday March 20th, 7:30 p.m.

Sunday March 21st, 2:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.

DB Clarke, 1st Floor, Hall Building

The Vagina Monologues is made up of various monologues read by different women. Every monologue somehow relates to the vagina, be it through sex, love, rape, menstruation, mutilation, masturbation, birth, orgasm, the variety of names for the vagina, or simply as a physical aspect of the body. A recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality. Every year a new monologue is added to highlight a current issue affecting women around the world. This year’s monologue is about the atrocities committed against women in Democratic Republic of Congo due to a decade long conflict in the country.

All funds raised will be donated to women's shelters in Montreal and City of Joy, a women's shelter in the Congo.
