Today, people of the Greater Toronto Area are experiencing hunger on a scale ranging from worrying about the lack of food to not having enough food. This fact has increased the need for Food Banks not only in the GTA, but all across Canada. Food banks are designed to supplement the foods individuals and families are unable to purchase. For the GTA overall, the increase in Food Bank use is up over 80% from 1995.
The North York Harvest Food Bank works towards the relief of hunger by collecting, sorting and distributing food to a network of more than 60 community programs and 200,000 people annually in northern Toronto.
Dining for a Difference will be an inspirational evening for the community to come together and enjoy a delicious three course meal, live performances from Toronto’s own jazz performers and lots of great prizes. We are also honoured to welcome our keynote speaker, Ken Dryden PC, MP.
